Too many have been hurt. Too many have died. Yet still the political violence continues unabated.
Just today House Majority Whip Steve Scalise was shot AT A BALLFIELD in Virginia along with several others by a “lone gunman” in an act of politically-inspired violence. The shooter was an Illinois man who reported asked whether those who were practicing were Republicans or Democrats.
My God, what difference does it make?
I guess a lot, since he was a staunch progressive liberal supporter of Bernie Sanders who supposedly “just couldn’t take it any more.” Just like the guy in Portland a few weeks back.
But why should it surprise me? The legacy media has been inciting and instigating for months with their hyperventilating over the illusory Trump-Russia collusion narrative (which they’ve now set aside to cry for impeachment on a new charge — obstruction of justice).
Yeah, I get it. Some of you hate those who don’t share your political beliefs. But to wish violence or harm upon Donald Trump or anyone else is just plain wrong. Get some self-control. Exercise restraint in your dialogue.
Our country was founded on the idea that power changes hands peacefully here, and that people can speak freely against those who hold it. But does freedom of speech mean freedom to incite to violence or riot?
I don’t think so.
Somehow we all need to take a deep breath and regain our self-control. Our news media and their talking heads need to back off the rhetoric. First it started with de-legitimizing Trump, then called for resistance to everything he does.
Now they’re glorifying plays of his assassination (Julius Caesar) and cutting off his head (Kathy Griffin). Worse, they not only condone but encourage more of the same everywhere we turn.
Antifa, the so-called anti-fascist group funded by George Soros and organized by the remnants of the old Weather Underground, openly attacks anyone who supports the sovereignty movement that brought Trump to power. They’re true domestic terrorists whose violent and disruptive actions are escalating everywhere there is a peaceful assembly.
Yet CNN and Democrat leaders refuse to disavow their actions, much less call for them to stop. Instead, they’re promoted as pawns in their battle for power to control the ship of state.
Has everyone lost their minds?
Take a deep breath. Think about what you stand for.
Do you support those who stir the pot and get everyone riled up to the point they’re ready to explode?
Or do you stand for peace, and finding a way to get along, even with those you dislike and don’t agree with?
The solution starts with you. Inside. And in how you relate to the world around you.
Give up your attachment to violence, and your willingness to see harm done to anyone.
Most of all, give peace a chance.
Please. Before it’s too late.
