Cap 'n Crunch

This is a new video on the proposed Cap and Trade Legislation. It's presented here as one perspective on the issue, and is not intended as a reflection of PeaceOptions' position on the matter.

There are many assertions on both sides both pro and con, including questions about the underlying science that the movie says so-called "serious scientists" supposedly agree upon.

Our concern, not even discussed here, is the effort to use such legislation to create even more extensive regulation and bureaucracy, perhaps even under a surreptiously-imposed world government.

Our position is that individual awakening and the expansion of consciousness is the answer, not external mechanisms that work through assertion of authority and control. But for this to have a chance, we the people must take the next step in our evolution and accept responsibility for our choices and actions, and voluntarily restrain ourselves from doing harm to self, others or the Earth.

Some might argue that individuals and corporations are incapable to take such action against their personal interests. We pray otherwise, and hold out a vision that they will in time to save our planet.

Otherwise, we risk giving up the very reason we're here -- to get the experiences our individualities require. Life is not a one-size-fits-all experience, and self-determination matters. Expanded control in any form does us all a great disservice.
