Frequently Asked Questions About PeaceOptions

Who's behind it?

John Dennison is the publisher of PeaceOptions. He is a peacemaker, problem solver and disciple of the light who has worked to bring peace to people's lives as a practicing lawyer for over 30 years.

On a spiritual level he has trained in the teachings of many great masters, including Jeshua (Jesus), Buddha and Lao Tzu, and shares their intention and effort to create a world that reflects greater love and light in the conduct of human affairs.

What are we about?

Foremost, PeaceOptions is about a perspective that we are all connected at our core, and that the world of our dreams is one that better allows us to reflect it through greater peace, prosperity and possibility for all.

To get there requires us to move beyond the conditions and differences that keep us apart and set us in conflict with each other. But to do this means expanding consciousness through greater awareness of who we are so we can better express what our lives are all about, and from there to work with and within the energies that test our ability to reflect our highest attributes instead of our lowest that too often afflict life on this planet.

If that world is to have a pervasive culture of peace, we must find better ways of exercising our wills without conflicting with others. While force of will may still work for some, it does nothing to build that culture of peace. And so if we are to truly have peace, we must look behind the scenes to understand what is at work that sets us in conflict with each other.

Most conflict is derived from a clash of desires or effort to avoid our fears, usually triggered by egoic distortions and unbalanced energies we carry within us. When choosing peace, we are undertaking a conscious effort to address those inner conditions and moderate how they influence our relations with our outer world.

Unless we do, those energies remain within us, and set off sympathetic waves that trigger energies in others and the world around us that put us in conflict.

When our energies interact through conflict, most often the stronger one prevails, imposing its will upon the vanquished adversary, along with an uneasy peace upon the resulting status quo. However, the causal factors remain within all, along with the energetic remnants of the judgments, unmet expectations and hard-feelings caused by our clash.

Therefore achieving peace starts first by creating an intention for peace along with a space in which it can take hold, and then by managing the energies of conflict in a way that allows them to eventually dissipate.

However, we do recognize that the creation of a space for peace to grow must often be done by meeting will with will to keep from being overrun by the forces of domination, control, and injustice. Nevertheless, the toll taken by that conflict can be terrible on both sides, even when the ultimate intention is to create peace.

Until both sides come to their senses and seek peace, ongoing conflict is inevitable and breeds more conflict.

What is this Peace you speak of?

Peace is not the absence of conflict. Rather, it goes well beyond that. It is the presence of harmonized energies that honors each person by allowing them to be as they are and encourages them to take their place with the whole.

From a spiritual perspective, these energies start within us, in the silence where our soul whispers its guidance, emanating from the oneness of our Source. Our task is to awaken to them and bring them forth as we conduct our affairs.

On a practical level, while peace can potentially evolve after conflict is concluded, in reality most conflict is self-perpetuating, plowing under the seeds of its causation until conditions ripen in the future, when they can again sprout, grow and give seed to further conflict.

In short, we believe that true peace calls us to turn away from conflict of any kind and find ways to move beyond the energies of conflict so we can build a harmonized whole.

That requires we make a choice for peace and do our best to harmonize our energies with those of the others and world around us.

What is the Intention behind PeaceOptions?

PeaceOptions is intended to be a place where we can challenge the beliefs, perspectives and practices of the status quo which keep people in struggle, suffering, and conflict.

Here we want to provide ways people can shift perspective to see them more clearly and consider new ones that better serve their lives, relations and the affairs of their world.

To make sure they are understood and practical in their lives, we also try to create opportunities where you can develop and apply those perspectives to co-create a better tomorrow for us all.

Are there any specific principles or practices involved?

Yes, first, to know yourself and what you're about, and what's going on in you that makes you the way that you are.

Next, to challenge those things in you that interfere with your life or keep from creating or experiencing it the way you want.

After that, to seek the value in everything and divinity in everyone, even those with whom you disagree or are in open conflict.

For until we allow for that expression and find a place for it in our world, we will never know peace -- much less the Oneness that we are.

You might begin by reading the Awakening Manifesto.

We also would suggest that when you're ready to look at yourself and your life in a new way, that you check out John's book, Whispers in the Silence -- Living by the Light of Your Soul.

What's it offer you?

Possibility. Choice. And a path through the struggle, suffering and conflict that afflicts our world.

Why should you care?

If your inner voice is telling you enough is enough, and that there must be a better way, then perhaps you were drawn here to explore it and try our perspectives on for size.

How can you learn more?
