Wake up, people. Look around you. The world's changing, and the way it was isn't coming back.

A new consciousness is rising and it's calling you to do your part.

Well, it's not exactly new. The coals have been glowing for a while now, their light hidden in enclaves around the world waiting for its time.

Now that time has come, and what was once an ember is now being fanned into a flame -- a flame of truth, of justice, and of the inner way that so many are discovering within them.

It has now spread so widely that it has called forth a new leader in America, the land of the free and home of the brave. Well, brave we better be, because he has asked us all to get off the sidelines and do our part to help restore our country.

Funny to hear that, because it's like an echo to me. I've been saying it to so many for so long now -- that we each have inside us a piece of a great puzzle that we must assemble if we are to build heaven on earth. Now we have a president who sees the only way out of the mess we're in is to start that process.

Can I hear an "amen?"

I hate to take the wind out of Obama's sails, because he's on the right track. Everyone's help is needed to right this ship, and it will be a lot harder if we don't all pull together.

But this isn't a start. It's been underway now a long time, and the process is accelerating. The work of the lightbearers is taking hold, and there's no putting the genie back in the bottle.

People don't realize it yet but there are many of us, thousands if not millions of points of light scattered across the land. Some have gathered together in small groups for mutual support or to test out their inspirations for new ideas in community. Most, though, are still in the process of awakening and finding their way.

Now it is time to connect the dots, to come together and facilitate communication and cooperative interaction among ourselves. This will not only serve us. It will provide an example to others, and give the newly-awakening a place of anchorage where they can find safe harbor from the storm. There they will not only find relief and refuge, but also a multitude of kindred souls to connect with and reinforce their efforts.

Many have embarked on missions to help lay a new foundation on which we can build. Most have worked alone, often in relative obscurity and at great personal sacrifice. But now it is time to find them and shine a light on their efforts so people can see that the work is already underway.

Yet the work is far from done. We have an even greater task ahead of us than simply holding the light. Now it is time to hold it high and begin building a new nation -- a nation of light -- even within the one Obama speaks of rebuilding.

This nation is not limited to the geo-political borders of the United States. This nation of light is seeded around the globe, existing within the midst of even the darkest corners of our world.

It is time to recognize ourselves for what we are, the vanguard of a new beginning here to lead humanity to the promised Golden Age.

This doesn't mean our struggles are over. In many ways, they've only just begun. For the disintegration of the old will bring much hardship to the land. We will not be immune from it, either. But who among us thinks we should just because we have done so much for so long behind the scenes? Who better to show the others how to let go and plunge into the darkness below to reach the light that waits beyond?

The time is now for us to arise, to see ourselves as what we are, a new society springing up from within the midst of the old. Not necessarily any better than the old, only one more suited to move into the new dimensions ahead.

It is time for us to focus on building that nation, and establishing the systems and institutions that will allow it to flourish and grow. Some of those will be within existing countries. Others will require us to raise our visions even higher, even beyond the possibility of becoming one world.

For the transformations now underway can empower us to take our seat at the galactic table with life forms seeded across the galaxies in recognition of our Oneness in All That Is.

Search your heart to know if this is so, at least in the truth that you have written for yourself. If so, I invite you to step into the light so others can gain strength from knowing they are not alone.

We are our own Founding Fathers and Mothers of this new world, the present and future citizens of this nation of light. Now is the time for us to declare our independence from the ways of the old one.
