Overcoming Adversity

How Can We Have Peace if We Can't Solve Our Problems?

If you ask me, people don't want peace. They want solutions to their problems. For so long as those problems exist, they don't think they can be at peace.

Moreover, the common way of dealing with those problems is through struggle and conflict. In other words, peace is the last thing on our minds.

If we're to create peace in our lives (or world), perhaps we should focus more on what we can do about the challenges at hand.

Every situation is unique, as are the individuals within it and the issues they face in their lives. Therefore no one-size-fits-all solution should be expected to give us a way out every time.

Nevertheless, there are some things we can try that will give us a good start.

Working With and Within the Dramas of Our Outer World

The mass consciousness is creating troublesome dramas that are causing many to give up hope that they can create a life that serves them, much less impact the direction of our common affairs more to their liking.

Don't Seal Off the Pain

Life is hard enough as is. But when it serves up events like the Haitian earthquake and the Gulf oil spill, the pain it causes ripples throughout the human race.

It makes us realize a simple fact -- all life is interconnected. What happens to others (or to our planet) also happens to us. These events give us a great gift, allowing us to feel that connection and change how we relate to the world we live in, and the other beings who inhabit it with us.

Unfortunately, when that connection is opened, their pain becomes ours, and many are so overwhelmed with it that depression, anxiety, and a sense of helplessness can run rampant, making it hard to function with any sense of normalcy in our own lives.

Moving Through the Darkness

These are difficult times. What will we do with them? What CAN we do with them?

Each of us must decide this for ourselves.

We can immerse ourselves in the tremendous energies that flow through us, especially the emotions they elicit as they cause our inner conditions to vibrate. When we do, though, we risk getting swept away by our own dramas and succumbing to the fears and desires that set them in motion.

Where's the pony?

Occasionally an issue or topic will stir some emotion or passion. I've realized that just writing a few lines can help integrate the energy and settle uneasiness. So, I will avail myself of the opportunity to express some thoughts from time to time, seeking primarily my own sense of ease.

How Do You Deal With Your Struggles?

Don't think that because you're having some troubles in your life that you're the only one struggling right now. Many are going through it in various ways.

The question is, what are you going to do with it?

After all, you created this situation for the experience it's bringing you. What are you getting from it?

Is it triggering fears? Making you despondent or depressed? Is it causing you to judge yourself for failing to do one thing or another that you might have done to lead you down a different path?

The Ultimate Love Triangle

The following was triggered by a conversation with God -- yes, we speak -- during a long walk this morning. He likes it when I show you what's going on in me and my life, even when it's hard for me to say it. So here goes.

* * *

Do you ever wonder whether you're going the right way in your life, or doing the right thing? I do.

Even giving myself up to the will of God doesn't relieve me of who I am or the responsibilities of the life I've built. And to be honest, in some areas I've created some interesting challenges.

Quit Trying to Make Things Happen and Surrender Your Interpretation and Attitudes About Life

Each time that you feel overwhelmed or fearful of the future, celebrate! Of course, beloved one, you do not feel like celebrating; yet we say to you, during those times your entire manner of relating to your beauteous journey is restructuring itself. That is, your manner of perceiving the cause and effect, your manner of attracting fulfillment according to your thoughts and feelings, and your manner of expanding consciousness… all are realigning themselves… to your greatest benefit.

Then you might be wondering, what do I do during times of confusion or fear? To which we would say the words with which you are perhaps most familiar. The words are “let go”. That is, allow the resettling and realigning to occur. When you let go, you are actually in that moment not placing your interpretation of “confusion” or “fear” upon the realignment of your systems. That means, beloved one, that they will align themselves according to your highest and most expanded manner of residing within physicality.
