Have you been watching the news? From coronavirus to lockdowns and now riots and looting over a cop killing a black man, our country’s burning. And it doesn’t look like the fire is going to be put out any time soon.
I’m sad. And speechless.
Perhaps it would be a good time for some social commentary on the conduct of some police officers, or those who are bussing in “protestors” to set the stage for more riots and destruction around the country.
Those are important issues, for they point out that we still have a long way to go in all areas of our affairs — expressing dissent, the selection and training of police, the seditious efforts taking place on so many fronts, or even those who fund the means of inciting such actions.
But I don’t have any answers. I don’t even have much in the way of opinion, except to say that people seem to have lost their minds, including the many politicians and experts who think they know best.
Everyone wants it their way, and too many seem to be pulling out all the stops to get it — even if it means destroying themselves or our society in the process.
All I can do is renew my earlier advice to lay low and protect yourself.
The storm is here, and it’s blowing hard with no end in sight. Be safe out there.
But prepare yourself to stand for what you know what is right.
You’ll know when.
God bless you, and indeed, us all in these moments of upheaval.
